EV charging questions.

Can I charge my car from solar?

Yes, with a compatible setup. How much solar goes into the car depends on generation, what the home is using and how the charger is configured.

Can I install a charger without solar?

Absolutely. Most home chargers can operate independently of solar and can still make use of scheduled or off-peak charging.

Will I need a new consumer unit?

Not necessarily. We assess the existing electrical installation and tell you clearly if any changes are required.

How long does installation take?

Many straightforward home charger installations can be completed in a day. More complex cable routes or electrical work can take longer.

Can I use a cheap overnight tariff?

Often, yes. Compatibility depends on the vehicle, charger and tariff, so we consider them together when recommending a setup.

What happens if I change car later?

We’ll consider future compatibility when recommending the charger, rather than designing only around the car on your driveway today.
